A life-long Washingtonian, Gavriel Jacobs grew up in Kirkland, WA. He made the decision to enlist in the US Marine Corps at 17, despite being vigorously courted by representatives from both Taco Bell and Jack-in-the-Box. He served from 2003-2008 as an Abrams crewman with Alpha Company, 1st Tank Battalion. Gavriel deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and was medically retired due to wounds sustained in combat. Following his time in the Marines, he attended the University of Washington, graduating in 2010. Gavriel then attended law school at Stanford University. Since graduation, he has served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for King County.
