Washington State Veterans Bar Association Member Eric Newman announces run for King County Superior Court Judge
Seattle, Washington – February 14, 2016: Washington State Veterans Bar Association announced today that it has evaluated Eric Newman for King County Superior Court Judge and considers him to be Exceptionally Well Qualified for the position. Mr. Newman has demonstrated a strong commitment to Veteran's issues and policies that advocate improving the lives of Washington State's 650,000 Veterans.
Eric Newman served in the United States Air Force and Washington Air National Guard from 1990-2003 at McChord Air Force Base. Mr. Newman is a third-generation Veteran, attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5) and is a recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal. Mr. Newman assumed various responsibilities in an air defense unit including monitoring radar equipment, managing command and control and networking equipment, providing physical site security, and supervising junior airmen. He continues his dedication to the Veterans of Washington with his involvement in organizations such as the Seattle Rotary.
Mr. Newman attended law school while in the Air National Guard and became a civil litigator practicing insurance defense and commercial litigation. Mr. Newman has also served as an adjunct professor at the Seattle University School of Law and a judge pro tempore.
The WSVBA Judicial Evaluation Committee has unanimously rated Eric Newman with a rating of Exceptionally Well Qualified and will continue to advocate for his candidacy.
